Connecting an SD6031 with a NEC PC-6001 mkII/SR, you can use a disk image on an SD card as a floppy disk.
LED1 lights up when reading, and LED2 lights up when writing.
There is an optional part to feed the power from the joystick connector of a PC-6001 mkII/SR.
SD6031 mounts a P31 file in a D1, D2, D3 or D4 directory on the root of the SD card formatted in FAT16 (FAT, normal allocation size in Windows). D1 - D4 means drive 1 - 4 respectively.
When there are multiple P31 files, SD6031 mounts the P31 file whose time stamp is the latest. You can use a time stamp update tool as an image selector.
Mutual conversion between the D88 file and the P31 file is done by two Windows programs called D88_P31 and P31_D88.
D88 (1D, 1DD) → P31 : drag a D88 file of 1D, 1DD and drop in the D88_P31.exe icon.
P31 (1D) → D88 : drag a P31 file of 1D and drop in the P31_D88.exe icon.
P31 (1DD) → D88 : drag a P31 file of 1DD and drop in the P31_D88_1DD.exe icon. |
Note that overwrite confirmation isn't done in D88_P31 and P31_D88.

SD6031 doesn't work with PC-6600 series.
The disk image is write protected eather if the P31 file is read only, or if the LOCK switch on the SD card is ON.
I designed SD6031 assuming that you use an SD card between 32MB and 2GB, but there may be compatible problems.
Any damage when SDISK II is used is not guaranteed in Nishida radio.
Esubi san for SR support.
